Davison is a collaborative video project created for Detroit Underground mastermind Kero during the first lockdown in 2020. The concept reflects pandemic isolation through classical sculptures of inseparable pairs being brutally separated.
Christoph Grünberger developed the concept & visuals, Florian Renner did the animations & renderings, and I remixed and edited the footage, adding glitching disturbances and syncing everything to the audio track.
The project emerged from a creative connection with Christoph after we both spoke at TOCA ME in Munich just before lockdown began. Our shared appreciation for electronic music and minimal aesthetics led to this remote collaboration that captures the disconnection and fragmentation of the Covid-era reality.
The video also incorporates elements of the viral film 'The Phoenix' by The Tenth Man, adding another layer to our exploration of separation and connection during unprecedented times.
