Vega Blog

Vega is a decentralised trading blockchain.

I worked across multiple product teams, designing and improving experiences on the Trading Console, Governance site, Block Explorer and Desktop & Browser Wallet. I helped to optimize production and improve consistency across vega.xyz by creating the initial design system.

This was followed by a complete revamp of the existing dApps design kit, applying best practices to create efficient workflows and a robust component library that standardized the design language across the Vega ecosystem.

In September 2024, the Vega community voted to retire the Vega chain, allowing the project to focus on the development and promotion of the open source Vega protocol software.

Console on Mobile & Desktop

Trading Console

Continuously iterated based on feedback from the community, largely through Discord. Some highlights include:

UI enhancements and evolving the visual language
Deal ticket improvements
Market switcher improvements
Transaction status feedback
Optimising for mobile

Often working with some ambiguity, I held weekly co-design sessions with the co-founder, product owner, and lead developer. These sessions helped us quickly reach consensus on specific problems and ensured a shared understanding of the requirements.
